Art Action
While studying art continues throughout the school year, we often do not have time to cover every working artist. This page is to update students and parents about new art exhibits, in the area or out of state, new artist techniques, or just really interesting art articles. Art is a huge medium and I like to keep students and parents up-to-date on some interesting contemporary artwork happening in the world currently. Check back here every now and then for some interesting art news!
4th Grade featured Artist: JOANNE GREENBAUM
Our next project concentrates on Non-Objective Artwork. As a class, we observed and discussed the artwork by Joanne Greenbaum. Greenbaum was born in 1953 and is currently working and living in New York City. Her artworks do not represent any particular object or theme, but rather they constantly test and expand the potential by which a painting can evolve. Her bold colors and shapes are interwoven with thin, delicate lines that create an imaginative and illusionary delight!
Check out more of her work at: http://www.joannegreenbaum.com/
